PIPEDA is Canada's federal private-sector privacy law. PIPEDA for AI is the work of meeting its principles, including consent, purpose limitation, accuracy, and accountability, when an AI system collects or uses someone's personal information.
It matters because AI strains the classic privacy model. A model trained or grounded on personal data must still honor the purpose for which that data was collected, support an individual's right to access or correct it, and avoid quietly repurposing it. Accuracy obligations also bite when an automated decision affects a real person.
At arosplatforms we build Canadian and cross-border AI with data residency, consent tracking, and minimization designed in from the start. We document how personal information moves through retrieval and inference so a privacy officer can answer, with evidence, exactly what the system knows and why.
